Welcome to lunkhouse.org – Home of the LUNk Collective.
Who We Are:
The LUNk House is a hub for local social justice activists and organizations hosted by the LUNk Collective. The LUNk Collective is a group brought together by shared ideals and a vision of what a truly just society would look like. For more on the LUNk Collective and our views check out the Declaration of Principles section of our website. We are always looking for new people to get involved and be a part of the collective. If you would like to become a member, all you have to do is come to our meetings or events and help out.
What We Do:
We host weekly events which you can find on our calendar page. We also have a micro-power AM and webcast radio station, LUNk Radio, which is broadcast from the house; you can listen to it on our site here: lunkhouse.org/lunkradio or if you are in the Near South area you can listen on your radio at 1580 AM. The LUNk House has resources available for the community which can be used during any of our events. Our resources include:
* A radical lending library – containing books, documentaries, and movies you would be unlikely to find at most libraries.
* A public use computer with Internet access.
* Free wifi for all guests.
* Meeting space for local radical and progressive groups (for a list of groups which meet at the house regularly see our Allies section).
* And a recycling center for aluminum cans at the back of the house.
We hope you can drop by and check us out. The LUNk House is located at 1315 S. 24th Street, on the west side (just north of 24th and A Street). If you have any questions feel free to contact us.
The LUNk House is funded by rent from residents and donations from the community. We are always in need of donations (every little bit helps) and we often have rooms open for rent – please let us know if you or someone you know may be interested.
